DOLCE & GABBANA: MEN SPRING/SUMMER 2014

The new Dolce & Gabbana Men’s Summer 2014 collection is inspired by the imagination of the Ancient Greeks and by Sicilian mythology, whose Greek origins are still retraceable in places such as the Valle dei Templi of Agrigento and the Tempio di Apollo of Syracuse. 18th and 19th century lithographs of the Valley of the Temples near Agrigento from the Designers’ very own collections form the basis of the prints for suits, shorts, t shirts and caftans while reference lithographs from Syracuse Mint are reproduced on linen looks.

Creativity and tailoring are the cornerstones of the collection, where the fantastical triumphs in the prints of antique gods such as those of Zeus and Apollo, and sandals recall those worn by the gods of the tradition. Zeus represents creation and absolute force, while Apollo is the sun, the light, the positivity and the beauty.

Dolce & Gabbana’s menswear fashion show took place in Milan on June 22, 2013 during Milan Men’s Fashion Week. The models walked to music by Ennio Morricone from the film “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso” by Giuseppe Tornatore.
