JETSET Fashion Magazine is the first online magazine worldwide to publish the pictures of Agent Provocateur’s new ad campaign. A superhuman sexiness is unleashed for AP’s Fall/Winter 2013/14 collection. Inspired by the grandes dames of Seventies Sci Fi – Barbarella, Bat Girl and the Flash Gordon femmes, this season’s lingerie comes powered up with bold new fabrics and electrified with futuristic hues.

Fall 2013

‘Ambrose’ is an ultra-luxe creation in classic pink and black, with an exclusive Austrian embroidery that extends all the way out to delicate guipure edges on the plunge bra and tanga knickers. The ‘Indigoe’ is her classic comrade-in-arms, a multi-layered fantasy of French Leavers lace, spotted mesh, electric blue tulle and black lace trim, with tiny cerise rosebuds to accentuate the shades of midnight.

Sci-fi sensuality is epitomised in a collection of bold sculpted pieces that are almost armour-like in construction, but ultimately soft and beautiful. The ‘Jet’ is the Power Princess of these pieces: made of a double layer of black tulle with specially commissioned PVC binding, the Deco lines are designed to emphasise your superhero proportions. The ‘Rhia’ set, made of a faggot-stitched flexible faux leather, evokes power silhouettes whilst the ‘Zatanna’, a silk jacquard fabric with a floral jacquard pattern, uses clever traditional corsetry construction to reveal flashes of skin and to boldly enhance the form.

Colour is key in the Autumn collection, an explosion of acid yellows, petrol blues and searing scarlet. The ‘Electra’ sets the bar high, with fronds of luminous green French leavers lace ‘trapped’ between two layers of black tulle. Criss-crossing elastic rouleaux draw attention to all the right spots. Kaleidoscopic colour is also a key feature of the ‘Zuri’, a light-as-air tulle set emblazoned with French embroidery.

Supergirls with a softer side will be enchanted by the ‘Demelza’, a showpiece set where precious materials are brought together. Ultra-fine tulle knit on Swiss lace machines almost disappears against the skin, but rouleaux silk binding gives form, with a cleavage-enhancing keyhole shape bra, and a lightly padded corset that gives dramatic astro-navigatrix proportions.

Winter 2013/14

The ‘Phoenix’ set has been two years in the making; a lace which is printed with a tie dye effect, it goes through three stages of construction in as many separate countries, before it comes to its completion.

Light-as-air, the ‘Annoushka’ is a tantalising halterneck bra of Chantilly lace, with almost invisible construction and underwiring to give shape. Tiny shell buttons keep the wisps of lace together, and reveal flashes of skin in between.

The season’s fascination with the artistry of the couturier is beautifully expressed in the ‘Matilda’ and the ‘Rudy’. Perfectly nude power mesh is layered, corded, bound and reconstructed into the ultimate hourglass shape in the ‘Matilda’ corset, with light foam padding and heavy black French leavers lace highlighting the hyper-feminine form. With the ‘Rudy’, traditional corsetry elements bind and shape the breasts with adjustable black silk rouleaux, stretchy corded lace and a bold flash of deep purple silk satin underneath.

As ever, Agent Provocateur’s classic pink and black palette makes a winking appearance. The ‘Krystalana’ is a retro confection of lace combined with stripy mesh, with all the lines of the corselette and the roll-on suspenders converging at just the right points. The ‘Charlie’ playsuit is another perfect exercise in line and form, with delicate straps of ruched black lace gently drawing across the body, and meeting where X marks the spot with pretty little pink silk bows.
