Agent Provocateur has just launched its spring/summer 2013 ad campaign, celebrating road movie heroines.
The “On The Road” campaign stars American model Crystal Renn (26), a former plus-size model, as a spirited pin-up. Based on the narrative of a classic American road movie, the campaign celebrates a whirlwind of adventure and nostalgia. The pictures were shot by editor-in-chief of Purple Fashion magazine, Olivier Zahm.
Creative director Sarah Shotton describes the inspiration: “The campaign embodies the brightness and boldness of the new 2013 lingerie collection. I wanted to capture the inspirational spirit of freedom and wild adventure I feel from watching ‘Thelma and Louise’ and by listening to Joan Jett. Crystal is transformed into a rock and roll prom queen, with a retro glamour sensibility that is so intrinsic to our brand.”
Olivier Zahm states: “For this season, I wanted the Agent Provocateur girls to escape the city and the boudoir and go on an adventure. I had in mind the beautiful architecture of 70’s gas stations found in Ed Ruscha’s work ‘Twentysix Gasoline Stations.’ I also thought of girls shot by Helmut Newton in this same place, playing with the gas pumps. The gas station is a fetish, a place to have fun and stretch your legs after hours of driving, a place where you can accidently meet a handsome stranger.”
