Geometric mosaic patterns, plastic embroidery, 60’s colours (orange, fuchsia) and well-defined silhouettes: Miuccia Prada’s new fall/winter collection 2012/13 is one of my favourites.
Items taken from the male wardrobe (sartorial coats, tail coats, tuxedos, military jackets) have been adapted to a more feminine style: high waistlines, slim trousers, pants above the ankle, sleeveless coats that are open under the bust, to be worn over trousers.
The accessories are very stylish: belts that emphasize the silhouette, doctor bags, jewel mini bags with chain, bicolour high heeled shoes with strap and front plateau, round glasses with a vintage flavour.
The hairstyling? Futuristic: every model had long dip-dyed hair extensions – from blonde to purple, black to grey, brown to grey or blonde to black.
The carpet on the catwalk was purple. Cool! Have you ever seen that at a fashion show?
