Rahät Loukoum by Serge Lutens is a tribute to Turkish delights. In Turkish, Rahät Loukoum means caresse of the palate. Lokum are Turkish confections based on a gel of starch and sugar. Premium lokum is made of chopped dates, pistachios, and hazelnuts or walnuts bound by the gel.
Launched in 1998, Rahät Loukoum smells of aldehydes, almond, cherry, hawthorn, Turkish rose, heliotrope, white honey, vanilla, tonka bean, balsam and musk. The frangrance was created by Christopher Sheldrake.
The perfume opens with a strong cherry scent. After a while, you smell the almonds and later on it becomes a powdery and delicate rose scent.
I would recommend it to gourmands and oriental lovers. Personally, I don’t like sweet smells, but I might use Rahät Loukoum to perfume my apartment in winter. It reminds me a little bit of Christmas.
Rahät Loukoum is now available in the collection “Vaporisateur Tout Noir”.
